Northamptonshire have honoured the memory of former batsman Hylton Ackerman who died in his native South Africa aged 62 after a long illness. The club's players wore black armbands on the second day of the Championship match against Middlesex at Northampton. Left-hander Ackerman scored over 5,000 first-class runs in 98 matches for the county between 1967 and 1971. He later coached South Africa's academy, served as a national selector and commentated on television.
