Tim Boon relief at emphatic Leicestershire victory

Tim Boon
It was a fantastic day...and the manner in which the guys did it was superb

Leicestershire head coach Tim Boon was a relieved man after seeing his side thrash Durham in the CB 40.

The Foxes reached their victory target of 190 with 14 overs to spare and in so doing ended a run of six consecutive defeats in all forms of the game.

"It was a truly great performance," Boon told BBC Radio Leicester. "We've taken a bit of flak and deservedly so.

"But I'm hoping this has restored a little bit more faith in the guys and brought a little bit more self-belief."

Boon added: "We did well to keep them down to 185. Matthew Hoggard set the tone, he bowled beautifully as did Nadeem Malik.

"We then saw some incredible power hitting from Jacques Du Toit and Andrew McDonald. They hit the ball to all parts and took the game away from Durham in the first 15 overs.

"It was a fantastic day, much needed and the manner in which the guys did it was superb."
