Nixon featured in the unofficial Indian Cricket League |
Leicestershire's Paul Nixon will not feature in their Twenty20 Cup campaign because of his past involvement in the Indian Cricket League. The Foxes have been advised that if he plays, the club may not be invited to participate in the Champions League if they qualify in September. Chief executive David Smith told BBC Radio Leicester: "It's not fair to our members if we cannot take part." The 39-year-old wicketkeeper says he is still working to resolve the situation. Counties with players contracted to the ICL, which is not sanctioned by the International Cricket Council, have been banned from playing in the Champions League Twenty20.
