Kent spinner James Tredwell lauds 'dominant' England
Tredwell was in the Caribbean as cover for Graeme Swann
Kent spinner James Tredwell believes England's victory at the World Twenty20 has proved they are now a 'dominant' force in one-day cricket.
England beat Australia by seven wickets in Sunday's final.
Tredwell, who was in the squad but did not feature, told BBC Radio Kent: "In the last year we have really improved in certain areas of one-day cricket.
"Most of our batters can hit it out of the park. We've got a really dominant line-up now and that was very evident."
He added: "It was a culmination of a lot of hard work and effort into the skills needed."
Tredwell admitted he was disappointed not to have played an active role in the Caribbean, but was still delighted to have been part of the squad.
"It would have been nice to play but we've got a really nice set-up at the moment and everyone is really pleased for everyone else's success," he said.
"So to be part of that as a squad member is really special.
"There's a guy in front of me [Graeme Swann] who's doing really well so I can't be too disappointed.
"I've just got to keep working at my game and when I come back to Canterbury hopefully I can put in some really good performances and see how it goes from there."
Tredwell is expected to return to the Kent side on Saturday for their Clydesdale Bank 40 game against Scotland.
