Gillingham defender Matt Lawrence says he knows their league position is not good enough.
Tuesday's 2-0 defeat at Swindon, which saw the Gills have the best of the chances before two late goals, means they drop down to ninth.
"With the strength of our squad - the manager and his assistant know we should be further up the league. We all know," Lawrence told BBC Radio Kent.
"But that's for us to put right and move on to Morecambe on Saturday."
He added: "We will try to come away with at least a point.
"We just need to be hard to beat. I don't think we're hard enough to beat at the moment.
"I'm not saying we're not performing as we should. I'm saying we're not getting the results that we should.
"It's hard to put a finger on it - but it's not for me to say really."
BBC Radio Kent will have commentary of Morecambe v Gillingham on 96.7 and 104.2FM.
