Paul Farbrace replaced South African Graham Ford as Kent coach

Kent team director Paul Farbrace says the county hope to have a new overseas fast bowler in by the end of April.

"We're still hoping to bring the new player in by April 26th," said Farbrace, "so he'll miss no more than the first two Championship matches.

Kent have been looking for a fast bowler since the deal to bring Australian international Stuart Clark to the club fell down over his fitness.

"We've got someone in our sights," Farbrace told BBC Radio Kent.

"The contract is agreed, now it's a case of getting the visa and work permit sorted."

"It's probably a 50-50 chance though because it can take such a long time.

"The club's been working very hard to try and get the work permit and visa done, but it's a long, slow process."
