Razzaq has also played for Surrey, Middlesex and Worcestershire |
Hampshire have signed Pakistan all-rounder Abdul Razzaq for this season's Friends Provident t20. The 30-year-old was part of the Pakistan team that won last year's ICC World Twenty20 tournament in England. Manager Giles White told BBC Radio Solent: "Everyone knows what he can do and he can win games with both bat and ball. We're excited." Razzaq has just helped Sialkot Stallions win Pakistan's domestic T20 title, beating the Faisalabad Wolves. Recently, Razzaq smashed an unbeaten 46 from just 18 deliveries as Pakistan rescued a near hopeless position to level the Twenty20 series against England with a four-wicket win in Dubai. He will play alongside international team-mate Shahid Afridi for the Royals in this year's competition. "He (Razzaq) will add a lot of power down the order with Afridi and (Dimi) Mascarenhas, and he can also bowl 'at the death'. That's helpful as well," White added.
