Razzaq will play as one of Ireland's two overseas professionals |
Abdul Razzaq has become the second Pakistan star to confirm that he will play as a professional for Ireland in this year's C&G Trophy.
The all-rounder will join the squad prior to the first match against Hampshire on 23 April at Clontarf.
Razzaq recently regained his place in the Pakistan Test and one-day teams and was influential in their Test series victory against rivals India.
Former Pakistan spinner Saqlain Mushtaq will also play for the Irish.
Saqlain played 49 Test matches and 169 one-day internationals. His career in one-dayers for Pakistan lasted a decade from 1995, and he took 288 wickets.
The 29-year-old joined Surrey in 1997 and remained at The Oval for eight seasons before major knee surgery forced him out of the limelight.
The right-arm off-break bowler played in two World Cups for Pakistan and in 2003 he was the fastest bowler to reach 100 one-day wickets.
He also belongs to an elite category of spin bowlers who have claimed hat-tricks in one-day cricket on not one, but two occasions - both against Zimbabwe.
