Hampshire's England all-rounder Dimitri Mascarenhas has signed for New Zealand side State Otago Volts. The 30-year-old will play for the Volts in the State Shield and State Twenty20 tournaments this winter. "I'm delighted to be a part of the Volts set-up and am looking forward to playing some good cricket for them," said Mascarenhas. "I really feel like I have something to offer with the Volts in terms of leadership and experience." Otago Cricket chief executive Ross Dykes added: "Dimitri is a dynamic cricketer with the ability to win a match on his own.  | I really can't wait to get out there and meet the boys | "Dimitri is clearly excited at the opportunity to play in an experienced and successful team under a management structure that encourages flair." Mascarenhas, who has played one-day and Twenty20 cricket for England, has spent his entire county career with Hampshire and played for Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League. "Playing cricket in New Zealand is something I've always wanted to do and Otago seemed an obvious destination with such a talented playing list who will be looking for success," he added. "I really can't wait to get out there and meet the boys."
