Sadler signed from Leicestershire in 2008 |
Derbyshire have released left-handed batsman John Sadler after three seasons at the County Ground. Sadler, 28, joined from Leicestershire in 2008 and has been a regular in the FP t20 campaign but has failed to establish himself in the county side. Head of cricket John Morris said: "He's contributed in limited-overs cricket. "But he has not scored heavily enough when the opportunities to play first-class cricket have come for us to offer him another contract." Sadler, who was captain of the second XI for the 2010 season, has scored 417 runs in 14 first-class matches for Derbyshire and contributed 767 runs at an average of 21.94 in limited-overs matches. He made the first-class team for three matches this season, averaging 11.25. Morris added: "It is sad to see John go because he has been a popular member of the squad and an excellent character to have around."
