Sadler made 33 not out to beat Surrey in the Pro40 League last season |
Batsman John Sadler has signed a new one-year contract at Derbyshire in a deal that will see him primarily captain the club's second XI. The 27-year-old left-hander only played the final three matches of the 2009 County Championship season, but made key contributions in the one-day side. Head of cricket John Morris said: "It is important that we have continuity. "Having John primarily captaining the second team will help us continue to bring on our younger players."
