Robert Key and Geraint Jones both scored centuries as Kent reached their target of 318 to beat Derbyshire by three wickets at Canterbury.

Key (110) and Jones (100) put on 175 for the second wicket to help the home side maintain their position at the top of the Division Two table.

Earlier, Derbyshire lost six wickets for just 67 runs in the morning session to give Kent a chance of victory.

James Tredwell finished with four wickets, while Justin Kemp took 3-12.

It was Kent's fifth Championship win of the season - helped by a third first-class hundred of the summer for each of their two England discards Key and Jones.

But, having cantered along at almost 4.5 an over to land their first win over Derbyshire at the St Lawrence Ground since 1993, they did it in the end with only 19 balls to spare.
