The Guernsey Cricket Board has unveiled an inaugural Premier League Twenty20 tournament for the island this summer. Teams from Guernsey and the other Channel Islands will take part in the competition, which will run for four weekends starting on Friday, 3 June. GCB chief executive officer Mark Latter said: "We are all very much looking forward to the GPL and seeing the buzz put back into cricket. "There will be top class cricket to watch," he added. Ahead of the June tournament, there will be an auction night, similar to the one staged in the Indian Premier League, where franchises can bid for players.
