Peterborough Town narrowly defeated leaders Finedon Dolben to throw the Northants League title race wide open. Ajaz Akhtar's side beat the reigning champions at Bretton Gate by two wickets with one ball to spare after restricting their opponents to 172-8. However, Finedon still head the Premier Division table by 10 points with three weeks of the season remaining. In the big relegation battle, Burton Latimer saw off the bottom side Wellingborough Town by 81 runs. Third-placed Northampton Saints kept alive their slender title hopes with a winning draw against Wollaston in a rain-affected contest, but they now trail Finedon by 50 points. Meanwhile, Geddington are just a point ahead of Horton House at the top of Division One after their eagerly-awaited meeting was washed out.
