Beeches comfortably beat St Helier on Thursday to move to within just one point of Division One leaders Rathbones in Jersey's Evening Cricket League. Beeches batted first, scoring 181-7 in 14 overs, with 51 from Peter German and 33 from Tom Coward. St Helier's reply was always behind the required run rate and they ended 50 runs short, finishing on 121-6. Rathbones lost ground as they went down to an eight-wicket defeat at the hands of Jackson Fox Hautlians. Rathbones hit a respectable 138-5 in their 14 overs with 51 from John Borg and 37 from Jonny Gough, but they were unable to contain the Hautlians reply and the winning runs were hit with just two balls to spare.
