Guernsey's Dale Mullen bowled Dennis Coster as the Dutch set a target of 211

Guernsey were defeated by 111 runs in their opening match of the ICC European Under-19 World Cup Qualifier in Belfast on Thursday.

Their game against the Netherlands was shortened to 30 overs per side after heavy rain fell during the morning.

The Dutch made an impressive 210-6 in their innings, before dismissing the Sarnians for just 99 runs in 29 overs.

Much of the damage was done by Philip Van Den Brandeler, who took four wickets for just five runs.

Elsewhere, Jersey beat Denmark by eight wickets and Scotland beat Ireland by four wickets.
