Shrewsbury move second after win over Kidderminster

Shrewsbury have moved back up to second in the Birmingham league after an 84-run win over Kidderminster.

Ed Foster (140) and Joe Leach (102) led them to 299-8, while Alex Blofield (5-70), Elliott Green (3-52) and Mark Mansell (3-60) saw off Kiddy for 215.

Wellington, replying to league leaders Knowle & Dorridge's 325-3, were second best in reaching just 219.

In division one, Anthony Parker was undefeated on 120 as Shifnal thrashed Coventry by 135 runs.

Shifnal rattled up a quickfire 301-5 declared, and Adam Shimmons and Jonathan Kidson took five wickets apiece as Coventry struggled to 166.

Whitchurch held on for the draw in their second division game at Cannock. The home side hit 233-5, but Simon Gregory (76) and Richard Oliver (46) were the main contributors as Whitchurch stood firm on 219-9.

League leaders Old Elizabethans (142-6) beat bottom side St George's (140) by four wickets, while Evesham (128-2) crushed Bridgnorth (126) by eight wickets.

Oswestry moved into the top half of division three after an 87-run win over Sutton Coldfield. Alex Huxley (67) and Mark Robinson (49) scored more than half of Oswestry's 210-9, before Paul Robinson took 7-38 to dismantle Sutton for 123.

In the Shropshire Premier League, Madeley continued to set the pace after after their six-wicket win at Ludlow.
