Cornwall Premier League leaders Paul narrowly failed to record a seventh straight win as they were held to a draw at Falmouth. Batting first, Paul set a target of 222-8, but they were unable to bowl out their hosts as Falmouth ended the match on 190-9. Defending champions St Just are now second after an easy nine-wicket home win over bottom club Penzance. Third-placed Callington lost at home to Truro by four wickets. Despite failing to win on the weekend, Paul still have a sizeable lead at the top of the league, with 18 points separating them and St Just. Callington's loss to Truro leaves them three points behind St Just. In the weekend's other fixtures, Chris Hunkin's great form continued as he hit 109 for Grampound Road in their total of 276-5 at Newquay, with the home side struggling to 103 all out in reply. St Austell had to settle for a draw at home to Werrington after making 266-6. Werrington's last pair survived the last two overs to finish the game on 230-9.
