Paul have extended their lead in the ECB Cornwall Premier League after beating second-placed Callington. Paul made 260-8, before bowling Callington out for 207 with just one over remaining. The defending champions St Just suffered their first defeat of the season, as they lost to Grampound Road by 118 runs. Grampound Road batted first to make 198-7, before bowling St Just out for just 80 within 24 overs. Chris Hunkin was the star player for Grampound Road, taking 5-17. On a day of firsts, Newquay won their first game of the season with a seven-wicket victory at Werrington. Having been set 203 to win, Newquay reached the target for the loss of just three wickets. In the weekend's other fixtures, Truro beat St Austell by three wickets, while Falmouth claimed a six-wicket win over bottom club Penzance.
