Plymouth Devils failed to build on Friday's triumph over Weymouth, as they went down to a disappointing defeat at the hands of Buxton on Sunday. After beating Weymouth by an encouraging 54-41 at the St Boniface Arena, the Devils were unable to contain a powerful Buxton side. Double figure returns from Mark Simmonds and Paul Starke proved fruitless as Buxton dominated the tie. Robert Branford and Charles Wright were the standout riders for Buxton. With Adam Allot also contributing a useful 13 points, Buxton eased home to wrap up the victory.
Buxton: Jake Anderson 3+2 (4 rides), Nick Morris (rider replacement), Robert Branford 14+2 (6), Adam Allott 13 (6), Charles Wright 15 (5). Reserves: Lewis Dallaway 8+1 (5), Jason Garrity 3+1 (4). Plymouth: Seemond Stephens 2+1 (4 rides), Matt Bates 4 (4), Lee Smethills 6 (4), Paul Starke 10+1 (5), Mark Simmonds 14 (5). Reserves: Dan Berwick 1 (4), Ben Reade 3+2 (4).
