Beeches have opened up a three point lead at the top of Jersey's Evening League Division One after beating St Ouen by 18 runs on Wednesday. Batting first, Beeches knocked 136-5 in 14 overs with Hannes Botha scoring 53, while Anthony Kay took 3-26. Despite a valiant 46 from Michael Ahier, St Ouen's reply fell short as they ended on 118-9 after 14 overs. The win means Beeches now have 60 points from their five games, while second-placed Rathbones OV's are on 57. In Wednesday's other Division One fixture, third-placed InfrasoftTech Walkovers beat Ashburton by seven wickets. Ashburton batted first to score 169-5 in 14 overs, with 55 from Tony Wightman, before Walkovers went the target in just 12.6 overs.
