The Manx Under-15 cricket team thrashed Germany by 237 runs on Thursday to reach the final of the ICC European Division Two Championships in Italy.

Batting first the Isle of Man made a staggering 361-5 from their 35 overs with Ryan Burns top scoring on 110.

Nicholas Moffitt and Shaun Kelly both added half-centuries to give the Germans a mountain to climb.

Needing more than 10 an over to win the German side finished 237 runs short of the Manx total on 124-6.

Isle of Man coach Gareth Dawson said: "We're made up to reach the final.

Whoever we play in the final, we will have to raise our game but we will approach the game with confidence

Isle of Man coach Gareth Dawson

"The whole team played fantastic this morning in 42-degree heat which was a real test.

"Ryan's century was something special, what a knock."

The Isle of Man will now face the winner of the second semi-final between the hosts Italy and Group B winners Belgium.

Dawson added: "Whoever we play in the final, we will have to raise our game but we will approach the game with confidence."
