 Ryan Burns hit a century |
The Manx Under-15 cricket team thrashed Germany by 237 runs on Thursday to reach the final of the ICC European Division Two Championships in Italy. Batting first the Isle of Man made a staggering 361-5 from their 35 overs with Ryan Burns top scoring on 110. Nicholas Moffitt and Shaun Kelly both added half-centuries to give the Germans a mountain to climb. Needing more than 10 an over to win the German side finished 237 runs short of the Manx total on 124-6. "The whole team played fantastic this morning in 42-degree heat which was a real test. "Ryan's century was something special, what a knock." The Isle of Man will now face the winner of the second semi-final between the hosts Italy and Group B winners Belgium. Dawson added: "Whoever we play in the final, we will have to raise our game but we will approach the game with confidence."
