The Isle of Man Under-15 cricket side lost their ICC European Division Two opener by 40 runs to hosts and tournament favourites Italy on Sunday. The Italians started terribly and found themselves in deep trouble at 75-7. But Aamir Shalkh and Muhammad Asghar came to the rescue with a fine stand of 123 as the Italians were eventually dismissed for 231. In reply Ryan Burns and Rowan Bird put on 52 for the first wicket but the Manx side were all out for 191. The Isle of Man can take a lot of confidence from the result however, as in the current ICC rankings Italy are placed two divisions higher. The Manx side will now face France on Monday.
