Laxey made the biggest impact on the opening day of the island's Premier League on Saturday, coming from behind to beat St George's 3-2 at Glen Road.
Geordies led at the interval through a Chris Melly goal but the Miners took control in the second half.
Substitute Lee Cowley drew the sides level before Danny Kewley and Jamie Clague gave them a two-goal cushion.
Chris Bass Jnr netted late on to give the defending champions hope but Laxey held on to bag the points.
Rushen also got off to a flier with a memorable 3-2 victory over Peel at Croit Lowey.
Elsewhere, Old Boys beat Ramsey 4-2, newly promoted St John's enjoyed an emphatic 5-1 win away at Union Mills and Gymns won 3-1 at Michael.
