Kibworth have laid to rest the ghosts of last year by beating Malden Wanderers in the Cockspur Cup final.

The Leicestershire side beat Malden by five wickets in Sunday's match at Southgate, in north London, which went down to the last over.

Kibworth lost the 2007 final to Bromley but have now managed to lift the trophy for the second time in five years.

The two sides had to meet on Sunday after their original final at Lord's on 9 September was abandoned due to rain.
