Play was abandoned without a ball being bowled on day one of Lincolnshire's Minor Counties match against Northumberland at Benwell Hill.

Lincolnshire went into the game top of the Eastern Division after picking up maximum points against Staffordshire.

Mark Fell, Lincolnshire's director of cricket, told BBC Radio Lincolnshire: "We have had a lot of rain and the water has sadly got under the covers.

"Hopefully we will play, it'll be a wet wicket but the same for both sides."
