Lincs can win anything, says Fell

Lincolnshire director of cricket Mark Fell says his side are capable of winning this season's Minor Counties knock-out trophy.

Lincolnshire are the only side with a 100% record from the group stages, but Fell believes the best is yet to come.

"I don't think we're playing to our full potential yet. Once we start doing that you'll see how special this team is," he told BBC Radio Lincolnshire.

"This team can win anything if they keep believing and keep playing well."

Of the four victories in the group stages, Fell believes the improbable one-wicket win against Cambridgeshire in the opening match was the most satisfying.

"To be nine wickets down and still need 70 runs and do what they did, as I said at the time if they don't believe in themselves now they never will.

"We'd lost. The most optimistic person in the world wouldn't have said we'd win from that position."

But Fell, who captained the county side to the Minor Counties title in 2003, insists that despite finishing top of their group and having home advantage for the quarter and semi-finals, they can not lower their guard if they are to reach the final at Lord's in August.

"The four wins mean nothing now," he admitted.

"We're not in a group phase any more. They're one-off matches and if we don't perform in the next game these four will have been wasted."
