Lincolnshire director of cricket Mark Fell believes his team can win the Eastern Division of the Minor Counties Championship.

Lincolnshire's season starts with four one-day games in the Minor Counties Knockout Trophy.

The county's first match of the campaign is against Cambridgeshire at Woodhall Spa on Sunday.

Fell told BBC Radio Lincolnshire: "If we play as well as we can then we will give everybody a good go."

This season Lincolnshire will be captained for the first time by Bracebridge Heath's Rob Cook, who takes over from Matthew Dowman.

Fell, a former captain himself, said: "I think he is ready for it but we'll never know until it actually happens.

"He's been through all the age groups and looks a pretty mature chap when he does it.

"I've got plenty of faith in him and I think he will do a good job."

Lincolnshire's match at Woodhall Spa against Cambridgeshire starts on Sunday at 1100 BST.
