Martyn Dobson won of three players who made half centuries

Lincolnshire ended the first day of their minor counties match against Staffordshire at Sleaford on Sunday in a strong position.

Batting first Lincolnshire made 345-7 with half centuries from Martyn Dowman, Vikram Atri and Martyn Dobson.

In reply the visitors finished 59-4 with Stuart Airey taking three wickets.

County director of cricket Mark Fell told BBC Radio Lincolnshire: "I think that's our best days cricket for 2 or 3 years in the three-day game."

He added: "The main thing is we have got to have is partnerships and we have had a 100 and two or three 50 partnerships."
