Bowlers lead Cornish to victory

Andy Gray
Andy Gray's record haul of 9-56 was not enough for Shropshire

Cornwall's Rob Harrison and Tom Sharp took all 10 second-innings wickets as the Duchy fought back to beat Shropshire by 54 runs.

After being bowled out for 157, thanks to a Championship record 9-56 from Shropshire spinner Andy Gray, the visitors needed 197 runs to win.

But Harrison claimed 6-65 and Sharp 4-32 as the hosts bowled Shropshire out for 143 in 47.2 overs.

The win sees Cornwall go third in the MCCA Championship Western Division.

They are 17 points behind leaders Cheshire and five points behind second-placed Berkshire.

Cornwall's next game is against Herefordshire at St Austell on Sunday, 13 July.
