Shaun Pollock took his first wickets of the tour as South Africa beat a Jamaica XI by 29 runs on Thursday. Pollock, who had a disappointing fourth Test on his return from ankle surgery, took 4-18 in an impressive spell.
And Andre Nel, who sat out the last Test with a back problem, took 2-36 from seven overs.
Boeta Dippenaar top-scored with 64 as the tourists posted 245, while Mark Boucher made a welcome return to form with 59 from 72 balls.
For the hosts, fast bowler Jermaine Lawson, who has not played for the West Indies since 2003, was among the wickets with 4-39.
Off-spinner Bevan Brown took 4-41 then hit a cavalier 37 from 26 balls including three sixes and one four, while Tyson Gordon contributed 70 to the chase.
South Africa face West Indies in the first two one-day internationals at Jamaica�s Sabina Park on Saturday and Sunday.
