South Africa's Graeme Smith was over the moon after his team established a huge advantage over West Indies after day two of the Barbados Test match. "From a personal point of view, it was fantastic," skipper Smith said, after scoring 104 in an opening partnership with AB De Villiers worth 191.
"Also to have a partnership with AB up front to set up things was terrific.
"We said it would be an important day today - it was great to see our bowlers clean up the tail in the morning."
The day began with West Indies 294-7 and ended with the hosts all out for 296 and South Africa building a strong reply to be 253-1, with De Villiers still there on 122.
Assuming the touring side's batsmen can kick on now, only poor weather or a stunning reversal of fortune can deprive South Africa of victory.
