Ireland's success this summer sees them being included in a triangular tourney with Holland and a Test-playing nation from the 2007 season. Ireland's inclusion was confirmed at the ICC's summit meeting which also agreed a six-year programme.
Adrian Birrell's side qualified for the 2007 ICC World Cup finals in the West Indies and also won through to the Inter-Continental Cup semi-finals.
The new tournament will be played alternately in Holland and Ireland.
Ireland will be guaranteed three matches with a possible a possible decider between the top two teams.
As from next year, Ireland will also host one of the two Test teams touring England and the games will be recognised as official One Day Internationals.
