Holland captain Luuk van Troost has hit out at the England and Wales Cricket Board after his side lost their defence of the ICC Trophy crown. The Dutch can still reach the World Cup in 2007, but must play off against the UAE, Denmark and Namibia.
But Van Troost said Scotland - who beat Holland to win their ICC group - have the unfair advantage of playing English county sides in the totesport League.
"I'm very jealous - I don't understand why we're not in it," he said.
"They won't even let us play in the C&G Trophy any more.
"We didn't play very well against Scotland and if we don't improve we won't qualify at all.
"Scotland are a much stronger team than they used to be after playing in the English one-day league."
Holland, who only lost by only 23 runs against Warwickshire this season, will begin their quest for the fifth qualifying spot against Denmark on Saturday.
The four semi-finalists - Scotland, Ireland, Canada and Bermuda - are all guaranteed a berth in the 2007 finals, to be held in the Caribbean.
