Second Test, Jamaica, day two:
Bangladesh 284 v West Indies 294-3
Sarwan was unbeaten on 106 at stumps |
Brian Lara and Ramnaresh Sarwan both made centuries as the West Indies eased past Bangladesh's first innings total in the second Test at Sabina Park.
At stumps, the Windies were 294-3 in reply to the visitors' 284, with captain Lara having made 119 and Sarwan undefeated on 106.
Bangladesh added 20 to their overnight score before Pedro Collins finished things off with Tapash Basiya's wicket.
Devon Smith and Chris Gayle were the other two Windies batsmen who were out.
After Collins had tidied up the Bangladesh tail-enders, the West Indies' response got off to a bad start when Gayle was caught behind by Khaled Mashud off Tareq Aziz to leave them on 26-1.
But his exit just brought Sarwan to the crease, when he steadied the ship with Smith, until the opener was run out for 44, but by that point they had already put on 83 for the second wicket.
Lara then entered the fray, and put on 170 off 45 overs for the third wicket before he was caught behind with five overs left in the day.
