Bangladesh hold on
Tour match, Grenada, day three (stumps):
WICB XI 320-5 dec & 163-5; Bangladesh 161

Dwayne Smith warmed up for the first Test against Bangladesh with an unbeaten 103 off only 70 balls for a West Indies Board XI in St Lucia.

Smith's innings, which included four sixes and nine fours, was the highlight of the final day's play as the two sides played out a draw.

Bangladesh were bowled out for 161 despite 73 from Mohammad Ashraful, a first innings deficit of 159.

The home side lost two early wickets but were 163-5 at the close.

Only 43 overs of play was possible after rain delayed the start and returned to cause a further interruption in the early afternoon.

Resuming on 124-4, Bangladesh only managed to add 37 for their last six wickets as off-spinner Omari Banks claimed 4-42.

Pace Bowler Jermaine Lawson celebrated his recall to the West Indies Test squad by having Ashraful caught by Smith and he also cleaned up Tapash Baisya for a duck to finish with figures of 3-42.

Baisya responded by removing Wavell Hinds and Devon Smith with the new ball at the start of the Board XI's second innings.

It was 42-3 when Banks gave a return catch to Alamgir Kabir after making 11 but the tourists were unable to contain Smith, who reached 50 off 28 balls.

Carlton Baugh (11) and Dave Mohammed (four) fell to Tareq Aziz and Enamul Haque Jr, but Dwayne Bravo kept Smith company to his century as they added 56 for the sixth wicket and was 21 not out when a halt was called.
