Elizabeth Cann has won bronze for England in the women's badminton singles, beating Scotland's Susan Egelstaff in the third-place play-off. The 31-year-old grew up in Jersey and has represented the Island at the previous three Commonwealth Games. Cann, who lost to Malaysia's Mew Choo Wong in the semi-finals, beat Egelstaff by 21-18 21-16. By winning bronze, Cann becomes the first Islander to pick up an individual Commonwealth Games medal since 1990.
