Isle of Man cyclists Mark Christian and Chris Whorrall have both qualified for the final of the 40km points race at the Indira Gandhi Sports Complex. The pair who are both members of the Under-23 British Cycling Academy will now go for gold in Wednesday's final. Whorrall, 19, qualified fifth in the day's opening heat, whilst Christian scored 27 points to qualify first in the second heat. Earlier, Christian failed to qualify for the 4000m indvidual pursuit final. Team Manager, Gary Hinds said: "Both of them showed a great deal of experience. "It's good to get those heats out of the way - there's always a bit of worry that things might not go our way."
