Watson is hoping for a rematch with Haroon Khan

Guernsey flyweight boxer Bradley Watson has said he is hopeful of getting a rematch with the brother of high-profile British boxer Amir Khan.

Watson lost in two rounds to Haroon Khan in Manchester at the weekend, where he also met his brother Amir.

The 18-year-old, who hopes the rematch will be in Guernsey in October, believes he will fare better the next time they come face-to-face.

"If I don't beat him it will be a good fight," he told BBC Guernsey.

"I was holding my own with him in the first round. In the second, I let him come onto the right hand and it didn't work off from there."

Watson admitted that Haroon Khan was "a talented lad" and added: "No-one will fight him, he can't get a bout anywhere, which is why I stepped in."

On meeting his brother Amir, Watson said: "He's a really nice guy and had a lot of time for us."
