Price stopped Ingleby with a right-hander in the third round |
David Price made an impressive start to his professional heavyweight career as he comfortably defeated journeyman David Ingleby inside three rounds. The Olympic super-heavyweight bronze medallist was making his pro debut against Morecambe's Ingleby. Price, 25, sealed victory with a right-hander which floored his opponent and ended the contest with 30 seconds left in the third round. "He was a tough nut and I was quite surprised," Price remarked. The Liverpool-born boxer said he had given his all to try and knock Ingleby out. "I was hitting him with punches that people would usually go off with in the amateurs - tough fighter," he said. Price admitted that having the fight staged at the Liverpool Echo Arena made it extra special. "The opportunity to make my debut in my home town, I feel very lucky. It's the best place to start my career."
