Quigley is confident of causing an upset against Paul David
Liverpool super-middleweight Tony Quigley admits he is stepping into the unknown to fight Sheffield's Paul David for the English title on 28 March.
Quigley, 24, has never boxed more than six rounds as a professional but may have to go 10 rounds to take the title in Liverpool.
He told BBC Radio Merseyside: "It's all about stamina isn't it?
"I can outbox anyone, it's whether I can do it for 10 rounds. He's never been stopped so it's a good test."
Quigley, has lost just one fight, against Commonwealth Champion Nathan Cleverly, since turning professional in 2004.
As an amateur Quigley captained England but in recent years he has flirted with the idea of switching from boxing to mixed martial arts.
However, Quigley says his title opportunity has re-ignited his passion for the sport.
"It's hard to be an international boxer winning titles around the world and then fighting [on professional shows] at midnight, it's a massive come down," said Quigley.
"That frustration has completely gone now - this is what it's about."
At the fight's official launch Sheffield's David was dismissive of Quigley, which left the Liverpool boxer amused.
"He doesn't know I exist. Whether I have to go the distance with him or stop him he's going to get beaten. I want that title," he added.
