Hungry Williams seeks redemption
By Alex Trickett

Danny Williams
British heavyweight Danny Williams says he will be more motivated for his long-awaited fight with Matt Skelton than he was before fighting Mike Tyson.

Williams pulled out of a July date with Skelton at late notice but will get a second chance in London on 3 December.

"I'm over the moon and more up for this than I was for Tyson. This is about proving a point and getting my respect back," Williams told BBC Sport.

"Some people think he is now top dog so I want to re-establish myself."

It is not yet clear whether there will be any titles at stake when Williams finally takes on Skelton.

The British Boxing Board of Control (BBBC) accepted Williams' excuse for withdrawing from the July fight, but still banned him from fighting for the British title for six months.

Williams is appealing against that ban and promoter Frank Warren is also trying to convince the Commonwealth Council to sanction the bout.

"I'm confident that the BBBC will reverse its decision," said Williams, 33.

"I showed them doctor's notes and did nothing wrong. I think my appeal will be answered and everything will be alright.

"And the Commonwealth will love this too. This is a massive fight."

Williams said he would step up his training next week and promised that there would be no tricks during the weigh-in this time around.

In July, he had shockingly weighed in well over 20 stone, but admitted that he had attached weights to his legs.

"I expect my weight to be around 18.5st," he said.

"I was just playing games last time. I strapped weights to my legs underneath my tracksuit. This time I'll wear shorts so everyone can see."
