Froch intends to raise his profile in America in the near future |
British and Commonwealth super middleweight champion Carl Froch is out to "do a job" against next opponent Matthew Barney on 9 July. "Some reckon I will struggle against him because of his elusive style," said Froch of the Nottingham bout.
"Not a chance. He is going to have to fight in order to survive because I am going to jump on him from the off.
"He has been mouthing off - he has made it personal. Now I'm going to do a job on Barney like no fighter has before."
The undefeated Froch, who is known as 'Cobra' and has won praise from US promoter Oscar de la Hoya, then plans to travel to America to raise his world profile.

"I will be looking at getting back out to America and representing Nottingham again on the world stage," he said.
"That is where I am going to have to do the business to achieve anything like what Brian Clough did with Nottingham Forest.
"Beating the world's best has always been my gameplan. I am going to unify the super middleweight division and bring the titles home for my fans.
"I have gone part way towards that by winning English, British and Commonwealth titles, but there is so much more to come, starting with Barney."
