Carl Froch's US debut was cancelled at the last minute after his American opponent Christian Cruz weighed in more than a stone overweight. Unbeaten Nottingham super middleweight Froch had been due to appear in a high-profile undercard slot on Bernard Hopkins' world middleweight title bill. All parties had agreed on Friday that the contest could be fought above the 12-stone super middleweight limit. But the weight difference was deemed too great for the fight to go ahead.
