City of York 400m runner Richard Buck has failed in his attempt to be fit for the UK Championships in Birmingham's Alexander Stadium at the weekend. He aggravated his hamstring injury in a warm-up session and he will now have an MRI scan to assess the problem. The UK Championships are also the trials for next month's World Championships in Berlin. Depending on the scan results Buck, xx, will race at Crystal Palace on 25 July to try to reach the qualifying time. The North Ferriby-based runner has a personal best just outside the qualifying time of 45.55 seconds and he said if he is fit it is achievable.
