Paul March played in Super League with Wakefield and Huddersfield |
York City Knights have sacked coach Paul March for gross misconduct after 18 months in charge. Director of rugby James Ratcliffe will take over as head coach and will stay in place for the 2010 campaign. March was one of six people suspended last week for an alleged breach of club discipline at a function at Leeds. The club confirmed last week that March would not be offered a new coaching contract for next season although he could be given terms as a player. The club hope to announce who will work with Ratcliffe within the next week. Knights general manger Ian Wilson told BBC Radio York: "We're disappointed. We take no pleasure from this kind of announcement. "Paul did some good things for the club but he put us in a really difficult position."
