Guernsey's Lee Merrien finished third at the UK Cross Country in Nottingham

Lee Merrien earned a place in the national team after finishing third in Saturday's UK Cross Country Championships in Nottingham.

The selection criteria for the World Cross Country Championships in Jordan was the first three across the line.

Merrien told BBC Guernsey: "Obviously it feels good. I'm really pleased with how it went.

"Whilst not confirmed, I'm delighted to make the team based on the selection criteria."
