The Isle of Man's Winter Race Walking League started on Sunday at the National Sports Centre, Douglas. Over 40 competitors took part, the results being used to set handicaps for the rest of the season. Commonwealth Games competitor Steve Partington was the fastest male, finishing the 10km in 49:47 minutes. The fastest woman was Lisa Motley (10th overall), with second place going to Jane Mooney (12th overall) and third place to Alison Brand.
