Gerrard reduced his personal best for the course by 20 seconds.

Isle of Man runner Keith Gerrard won a silver medal at the National Cross Country Relay championships at Berry Hill Park in Mansfield on Saturday.

Gerrard's four-man Newham and Essex Beagles team came second in 61 minutes and 29 seconds with Bedford and County AC taking first place in 1:01:09.

Manx Sports Aid recipient Gerrard recorded the seventh fastest individual time of the day finishing in 14:59.

Morpeth Harriers & AC finished third in a time of 1:01:36.

The 2009 National Championships will be held at Parliament Hill Fields in London on 21 February.
