Team GB take second at Paralympics

Great Britain won 102 medals at the Paralympics, including an incredible 42 golds, to finish behind China.

Highlights included 13-year-old Eleanor Simmonds winning two gold medals while fellow swimmer Dave Roberts won four golds eqaulling Dame Tanni-Grey Thompson's 11-goal haul.

Surrey athlete David Weir (pictured) claimed two Paralympic golds on the track, while Darren Kenny clinched four golds in cycling.

GB chief Phil Lane hailed a "wonderful performance" after the team were greeted to a heroes' welcome at Heathrow Airport, and said he was looking to the future.

"This is one of the top Paralympic performances we have had and will be a tough act to follow, but we need to get the recruitment right."
